About Irongold
Irongold makes software for the Department of War. We build products used across the Department, and we build software to order for one mission.
Either way, your people can run the software and change it. They are not required to maintain it.
Products
Software built once and used across the Department. The first is War Factory. Anyone can describe the software they need and have it built, on phone, desktop or web.
Built to order
Software made for one mission, with the people who will use it. You do not need a finished specification to begin. We define what the software must do, how you will accept it, and where it will run.
Irongold builds in an environment you already run, so there is nothing new to accredit. Each thing you said the software must do becomes a test it has to pass. Price is quoted after we define the work. There is no public rate card.
After handoff, you have the source, the documentation, and government purpose rights or broader. Keep Irongold to maintain and improve it when that helps.
When to build, and when to buy
Most teams already have a way to get software. Each one has a good reason behind it.
By hand. Nothing new to buy or accredit, and the people doing the work know the rules. The cost comes with each change: staff time, and knowledge that leaves when people rotate.
Through the contract you have. The vendor is already on contract, so there is no new competition. Each change waits in the vendor’s queue, and some need a modification. Irongold puts handoff in the terms, so your people can make the next change.
Through a government software team. They bring government engineers and accredited pipelines. They serve many programs, so a smaller need can wait its turn. Irongold builds in an environment you already run, and you keep control of what we deliver.
With a chat tool. It is already approved, and people know how to use it. It drafts and answers. It does not run the work or check the result against your rules. Irongold builds software that does, and every change passes your tests.
On an enterprise tool you already license. The license is often paid, and someone on staff can build a first version. That person then becomes the developer. With Irongold, your people change the software without becoming its developers.
By buying a commercial product. If what you need is common across the Department and rarely changes, a commercial product may serve you better. We will say so.
Who Irongold is for
